A crowning achievement

Olivia Tremor Control’s “Jumping Fences” comes from their criminally underheard (is that really a word?) 1996 album, Dusk at Cubist Castle. Part of the incredibly creative Elephant 6 collective, which also included such great bands as Apples in Stereo, Neutral Milk Hotel, Beulah, and Of Montreal, Olivia Tremor Control meshed classic ’60s pop with experimental sounds and song structures. It all came together on this album in an unforgettable way, and this song is one of the highest of the highlights…
