I received a spam comment this week that brought with it a feeling of sympathetic dismay. It was from Sex Dating Website (yet another name that must have brought no end of teasing as a child — parents can be so cruel):

Wow that was strange. I just wrote an extremely long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t appear. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over once again. Anyway, just wanted to say great blog site!

I’m so sorry, Sex. I know how frustrating that can be, as it has happened to me a few times in the past as well. In fact, I had this really long response to thank you for writing, full of insightful and motivational thoughts to help you overcome the disappointment you must have felt, but when I clicked “Publish,” it too disappeared. And really, I can’t be bothered to rewrite it.

Bummer, huh?
