With this week’s Comment Spam of the Week, Reselect takes a turn toward the befuddling with this comment spam from “巨乳人妻” (no idea how to translate that — I just hope it isn’t offensive to anyone who can), regarding my “Reselect Rerun: Throwing Muses” post:

Parsley seed goes nine times on the Devil.

Now I have to admit, I was a bit mystified at first, but then it hit me: my friend with the untranslatable name was making a reference to cooking! I’m still not sure how that relates to the Throwing Muses, but it couldn’t have come at a better time: just the other day I had tried my hand, and failed at, making an herbed devil’s food cake, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what had gone wrong. But with this comment, I now realize the error: I had only used seven teaspoons of parsley seed in the batter, not the nine suggested in this remark! Silly me — I should have realized that due to the poor photocopy quality of the recipe I might not be reading it properly.

Well thank you for setting me straight, 巨乳人妻 — next time, I’m certain to have success. And I’ll be sure to save you a piece!
